ORANJESTAD - 3/27/2009  Het Binnenhuys proudly presents Mi Sintimento II In Het Binnenhuys, under the theme "Mi Sintimento" Art exhibition of artist Ruurd M. Van der Meulen is held. He is a figurative artist and his work is strongly influenced by the so called Picasso style. Ruurd, born in the Frisian capital Leeuwarden, has had always something with art. As a child he was an excellent drawer, later he developed his work with colors.   The application of the Picasso Style has endless possibilities in design. The bright Caribbean colors are the ingredients for his art. As a nature lover, Ruurd enjoys walking amongst the untouched nature of the Arikok Park. During these walks he is searching for creative and artistic designs. The never-ending variety of rocks along the North coast where he discovered many creative forms-inspires him. But he also gets his inspiration from drawings mady by children. Two years ago Ruurd had an exhibition on Curacao and last year he participated in the Slavery exhibition which was held in the Central Archives.
